Wine for the Weekend...Von Schleinitz Pinot Noir Rose

Seeing summer almost around the corner is exciting for all of us who live in a 'Four-Season' corner of the world. To add to the celebration of warm weather and being able to spend so much time outdoors, try this lovely Pinot Noir Rose from the Mosel Valley. Though red grapes were not allowed to be planted in this appellation until 1987, the crew at Von Schleinitz jumped at the chance to grow Pinot in the slate hills of the Northern Mosel. What results is a brilliant dry rose with a hint of minerality, beautiful peach and strawberry fruit, and a lack of tannin that really makes this rose standout from the masses.
